Lego Apprentice - Series Five is Here!

The Apprentice by Boleg Bros is back, which means The Apprentice in Lego, to the uninitiated.

There was some minor speculation on Twitter during last week's BBC airing of The Apprentice as to whether it would be back, and whether the best way to represent loser Anita Shah would simply be to turn the head of a normal Lego man upside down.

Here's the result:

And here's the first episode:

Tee du jour - Bryan Gunn by teetude

Don't be mean about this, it's very close to my heart. Bryan Gunn is a bit of a local hero in Norwich and, touch wood, looks like leading the Canaries to safety in the Championship after a truly ordinary and potentially disastrous run.

So this tee is pretty appropriate really, a Shepard Fairey-style treatment of Bryan Gunn. As fitting as Darren Huckerby's declaration that California is 'like the Norfolk of the USA', I'm prepared to say that Bryan Gunn is Norwich's answer to Barack Obama. There, I've said it. Now buy the t-shirt.

Get this in t-shirt or trucker cap form from teetude's Cafe Press shop here.

The Sun jumps in Natasha Richardson's grave

When companies have previously been caught taking advantage of tragedies with PPC ads, they've usually managed to excuse it as a glitch. Good luck with that defence, The Sun, and whichever heartless shower of chancers buy their PPC ads.

Google Streetview Reaches Some of the UK

I'm quite excited by Google Streetview, although it seems to have missed the whole of Bolton and the 50 yards outside the front of my Hackney-based home.

It didn't miss fortress Carrow Road though.

Carrow Road on Google Streetview

Simon beat me to this, but I felt I had to share this.

Twitter goes all long and gives us 'more'

If you've ever been frustrated by having to flick back and forth between pages on your Twitter stream, you won't be now!

Twitter has a new 'more' bar at the bottom of the page, which simply extends the page. A really simple alternation but one that makes the web version of Twitter much more attractive than it was and, I would expect, is designed to grab back users from the likes of Twhirl and Tweetdeck. With the new so-called 'ads' (currently only for Twitter features) on the page as well, is this another step towards having fully-fledged advertising on Twitter?

And look at all that green space it creates down the side. What could they put there?

Aero Skating Ad - Feel the Bubbles

Considering we have that meathead off Sex and the City in Aero ads in the UK, this is a nice change from Nestle. And no I don't mean Sarah Jessica Parker.

and there's a making of the Aero ad clip, called 'Behind the Bubbles' as well...

..which is in two parts.

Compare The Meerkat Bloopers

@Aleksandr_Orlov has been busy again, this time creating a blooper reel from his existing ads.

I'm not sure if this is going to be done as viral activity or as a TV ad, but it will surely hit the mark either way. With a massive Facebook and Twitter following, there's a captive audience guaranteed, and he's hitting them in their own environment.

The bloopers were added to the Comparethemeerkat.com site today, and have been put onto You Tube by someone very resourceful.

iDaft - DaftPunk's Console

iDaft by Najle.com is a simple recreation of the console used by Daftpunk and Kanye West and allows you to create your own 'Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger' type mix using your computer keyboard.

According to the iDaft Facebook Group, the iDaft Application is coming soon for the iPhone. Sweet.

The Apprentice 2009 Trailer - Boardroom Battle

The Apprentice is back on March 25th! I am ludicrously excited, even more so after the Comic Relief special in which Jack Dee was hilarious.

This is the fancy trailer for the series, and more about it can be uncovered on The Apprentice site.

I've talked during previous series about how I think the BBC looks after its big properties, particularly The Apprentice and Dragons' Den, really well. This ad is a good example of the effort they put in.

I also love the fact that on You Tube a note appeared in the bottom of the video saying 'Watch in HD or you're fired'. Lovely stuff.

Eric Cantona in new Renault Advert

Here's a trailer for an ad campaign - these things are really getting stretched out now.

This involves Eric Cantona, he of seagulls following trawlers, kung fu kicks on fans and playing French kings in movies. And Renault, the French car company of Papa and Nicole fame.

If this teaser is anything to go by, it'll be a bit 'philosophical' will this campaign.

It can't be as surreal as this effort with Papa, Nicole, Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer.

My Twitter Followers

Here's a lovely mosaic I was put onto by Nick. It shows all of my burgeoning number of Twitter followers, including Mr Stanley Victor Collymore and Russell Brand.

Quite an attractive bunch!
